The first step is determining the type of dry eye and best treatment plan specific to your eyes and your lifestyle.  Both prescription and over the counter eye drops may be used to help alleviate the dry eye.  Even oral medications may be used in some instances.  We usually see a patient back for a follow up (covered by Alberta Healthcare) to assess the treatment and determine the best long-term management of your dry eye.
